3 Must Have Eco-Chic Outfits This Spring
As Earth Day approaches, and Spring is in full bloom, we are naturally more aware of the beauty around us and the impact we have on the environment. I’m excited to partner with Athleta again this year in honor or Earth Day to bring more awareness to sustainably-made clothing.
40% of Athleta’s fabrics are now made from sustainable fibers and I styled three different outfits that are all consciously made with either recycled, or organic materials! What I love about all 3 looks is that they are perfect for a day filled with activities!
Look 1: Feminine + Flattering
I chose this look based on the amazing Drip Drop Jacket in blush pink, I just thought it was so feminine and chic! It is made out of their Recycled Polyester fabric and is water-repellent + wind-resistant, perfect for the unexpected rain falls and chilly nights during the Springtime.
For my bottoms, I chose the Trekkie Joggers made from Recycled Nylon, a material that has already helped divert 32 tons of waste from landfills this year alone! They fit like a glove, feel incredible on my waist and they also come in 3 other colors.
Since I live in New York and it still gets pretty chilly out I wanted to make sure I had an option to layer up. So, I added this super soft Criss Cross Sweatshirt tied around my wait, ready to warm me up when I get a bit cold! It comes in 4 other beautiful soft toned colors and is made from Lenzing Modal; a fiber that is produced from European Beechwood trees harvested from sustainable forests where 99% of the raw material comes from certified or controlled sources. Talk about being aware of where out clothes are from huh?
To finish off the look I needed matching shoes of course! These dusty pink colored sneakers were perfection!
Now, I don’t know about you but when I am out in the city all day I must staying hydrated and have all my necessities with me (phone charger, wallet, lip balm, etc.) so, I also got myself this cute reusable water bottle that keeps drinks cool for 25+ hours and hot drinks hot for 12+ hours & a backpack that can hold so much stuff! It even has an extra bottom pocket you can store other things in! The trim of this Caraa x Athleta Convertible Backpack is made out of Vegan leather and it comes in both all black or black and white.
Look 2; City Chic
When I was shopping at Athleta’s NYC store, these pants were the first thing I laid my eyes on and just had to get them! The Midtown Ankle Pant with the pinstripe details were calling my name not to mention they are made from recycled poly which is made from post-consumer plastic bottles and lessens our impact on the world.
For a matching top I needed something I can layer on top to keep me warm! I found this Pacifica Wrap Front Tank that gave me some real sexy feels due to its v-cut zipper in the front and when I tried it on it hugged my body in all the right places! It comes it 5 other colors (I got it in black too because it’s so cute!). The material of this shirt is also made from recycled poly like the pants but also has UPF 50+ so you are more protected from the sunshine rays!
For an extra layer, I found this unique Bomber jacket. I loved that it hits on the hips and has adjustable cinch cords so I was able to adjust it to fit just how I liked! It comes in two other colors and it’s made from recycled fibers.
Last but not least, I had to get some shoes to match and these white and navy blue ones were made for this eco-chic spring outfit!
Look 3; On The Run
Whenever it is semi-warm outside and I have to take the subway in NY I am almost always overheat! So, when I saw this vest I knew it would be the perfect layer to keep my upper body warm but give my underarms a chance to breathe! This vest is made with responsibly sourced down, and the insulation piece features recycled fabric and is water- and wind-resistant.
I paired the vest with the Organic Daily Long Sleeve that comes in 4 other colors and is made from organic cotton which is grown without harmful pesticides, so it benefits the whole ecosystem! I love that it is also a bit shear.
I then completed the look with these camo tights made out of recycled poly! I could sleep in these every night if I had to because they are so comfy!
Hope you love these looks as much as I do! Make sure to head over to your local Athleta store or shop online through the links on this blog post for some amazing sustainable eco-chic pieces as we’re lucky to live on such a beautiful planet and Athleta is determined to protect it. Let’s keep making a difference together one step at a time.
