6 Activities You Don’t Want To Miss This Fall In NYC

With Fall finally here, I wanted to give you all the top 6 activities I think are absolutely a must do during the season here in NYC!

1. THE GREAT JACK-O-LANTERN BLAZE
LIMITED DATES SEPTEMBER – NOVEMBER
This is number one because it truly is my favorite of the entire five! There are more than 7,000 carved out jack-o-lanterns each equally spooky. It’s truly a magical sight and worth the trip to Westchester. A Halloween tradition in my opinion.
2. CELEBRATE OKTOBERFEST
WEEKENDS THROUGHOUT SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER
If you like bratwurst, pretzels, and lot of steins of beer, this is one activity you do not want to miss out on. My favorite one is Bierhaus which is open Monday nights during October, it takes Oktoberfest to the next level. Think German eats, drink specials, live music, DJ, a burlesque show, and more!
3. WINE TASTING AT LOCAL VINEYARDS
Sundays are for adventures, take the day to get out of the city and explore some wineries in Long Island! You can take the Long Island Railroad, the Hampton Jitney bus, or rent a car to get yourself there. Some of the best ones include Kon-to-Kosta, Mattebella and Sparkling Pointe.
4. APPLE PICKING AT HARBES
Fall just isn’t Fall without wearing some plaid and going apple picking. Best place to do that in NY? The Harbes Family Farm. Be sure to check out the corn maze, pumpkin patch, live music and more.
Pro tip: Eat an apple cider donut. Trust me, it’s worth it.
5. MOHONK MOUNTAIN HOUSE
It’s a hike, but it’s worth it! This resort is one for the books, filled with beautiful views, hiking trails, a world-class brunch buffet, a spa and more. Guests also have the option of spending the day or staying the entire weekend. The hike up is so beautiful during the fall!
5. COLOR FACTORY
OPEN UNTIL THE END OF NOVEMBER
If you are looking for an indoor, interactive, Insta-worthy activity to do this Fall, the Color Factory is the perfect place! The exhibit is filled with a giant ball pit, tons of treats, and photo-op opportunities. PRO TIP: Book tickets in advance as it’s almost always sold out!
