Clinique Is Toxic
Did you know that 80% of the ingredients in our products (makeup, skincare, etc.) are absorbed into our bodies and then into our bloodstreams therefore hurting our reproductive system & SO much more!
Before I took the time to look into that long, wordy ingredient list on my skincare bottle, I used to be loyal to a brand you may be familiar with; Clinique.
Truth is – after digging into their ingredient lists, almost all of their products have extremely harmful ingredients that you may want to learn more about before your next skincare routine. This may be a shocking surprise to you as the way they market their products is by claiming to be doctor approved and hypoallergenic, but this does not mean CLEAN, or SAFE whatsoever.
Still not convinced? Let me share a few of the ingredients they use in their products:
❌Petrolatum is a mineral oil jelly that is used to as a barrier to lock the moisture into your skin. Although this oil is only found in crude oil which is NOT pure not renewable and therefore causes irritation , itchiness , redness and is dangerous around the eyes!
❌Phenoxyethanol is a preservative used in cosmetics such as Clinique which I was recorded to be the 9th most- prevalent allergen in the patch test. Not to mention the Food & Drug administration warned that this chemical is toxic and can lead to depress the nervous system , generate vomiting and diarrhea!
❌Octinoxate is used in cosmetics to protect against UVB radiation. It effects estrogenic and thyroid activity as well as development in functionality, brain and metabolism! It also leads to breast cancer!
❌Disodium EDTA is used to soften the water and preserve the chemicals and formulas of the products we use therefore preventing microbial growth. Long term use generates irritation, inflammation and lung disease! Shows signs of generating breast cancer!
For more chemical information, upload the app Think Dirty which is free and allows you to scan you products for a breakdown of chemicals as well as a ‘green’ rating, it’s amazing !
Okay, now the real question is what to swap out your Toxic Clinique Products with?
Below I’ve listed a few of my personal favorite brands and their face cleansers – if you want an even bigger selection – Check out my blog post of my favorite natural products for so many clean options !
Hope this helps you make a cleaner and safer choice !

My grandmother was obsessed with Clinique and used all of the products daily and nightly. She had 4 healthy kids and lived to be 102 with zero health problems.

Funny you bash Clinique. What you DIDN’T know is that they have done studies on their products checking the absorption level of their ingredients. NONE of them reached the bloodatream. I inquired with my consultant about this exact topic. What she showed me was their products and the level which the skin absopred it.
I can only use Clinique because of my sensitivity to facial care and cosmetics. I have no qualms using it, especially when knowing that it is safe for my skin.
